
Memphis Hustle Defeat Texas Legends 117-102, Register Fourth Straight Road Win

Frisco, Tex. - The Memphis Hustle, the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Texas Legends, 117-102, Saturday at Comerica Center. The Hustle won for the fourth time in their last five games and earned their fourth consecutive road victory to improve to 7-6 in the Showcase Cup and 5-3 away from home.
Dakota Mathias led all scorers with 24 points (9-13 FG, 6-9 3P), Justin Bean scored a career-high 23 points (8-14, 5-7 3P), and Terrell Brown Jr. scored a career-best 20 points (9-12 FG, 1-1 3P) off the bench for the Hustle, who shot 54.8% from the field and made 16 of their 33 3-point attempts.
Jacob Gilyard double-doubled with 12 points and 13 assists, as Memphis recorded 32 assists as a team to only 14 turnovers.
Grant Riller, Tyler Dorsey and McKinley Wright IV all scored 21 points to lead the Legends, who tallied just 14 assists and dropped to 7-8 overall.
Memphis converted 22 turnovers into 33 points and held a 20-2 advantage in points off turnovers at halftime. The Hustle scored 41 points on 16-of-22 shooting in the second quarter, blanking Texas 14-0 in points off turnovers, to take a 64-51 halftime lead.
Texas scored 14 straight in the third quarter as part of a 17-4 run that pulled the Legends within one with 1:08 remaining in the period, but Memphis responded with an 11-2 run to regain a double-digit lead it would hold for the majority of the fourth quarter.
The Hustle won for the second time in three meetings with the Legends after splitting a two-game series at home from Nov. 29-30.
Memphis will play the final three games of its Showcase Cup slate at Landers Center, starting with a matchup with the Lakeland Magic at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
