Memphis 901 FC Trio Earns USL Championship Team of the Week Honors

Memphis, Tenn. - The USL Championship announced on Tuesday the Team of the Week for Week 7, which includes Memphis 901 FC trio Jeremy Kelly, Akeem Ward and Graham Smith.

Kelly, Ward and Smith played key roles in the club's convincing 3-0 road victory over Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday, delivering the first three-point result for the club this season.

Kelly earned his second Team of the Week nod of the season with a strong performance in the midfield, completing 48 of 56 passes while winning two tackles and recording 10 recoveries defensively.

Ward put in his best shift of the season at left back in the victory over RGV, completing 33 of his 42 passes and winning four tackles while helping Bruno Lapa open the scoring with a through ball assist into the box.

Smith continued his steady presence at the back of the Memphis defense while picking his spots in attack in the win. The center back won two tackles, three duels and four aerial duels, then scored his first goal of the season with a diving header on the other end.

Memphis 901 FC travels to take on MLS squad Atlanta United FC in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will be available streaming live on the B/R Football Youtube Channel.
