Oakland Roots News Release
Oakland heads up Highway 80 to take on NorCal rivals Sacramento Republic for the first time in the U.S. Open Cup. The two local teams were supposed to face off in the Cup back in 2020, but the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Oakland and Sacramento have played each other seven times, with each side winning once and the other five ending in draws. To date, neither side has won on the road in the series.
