Megan Rapinoe Named to National Team Roster

SEATTLE - U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) head coach Jill Ellis announced today the roster for the team's upcoming event running from January 13th - 23rd at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California. Seattle Reign FC's Megan Rapinoe is among the 29 players selected.

Rapinoe returns to the roster after being called up for the September and November friendlies. The midfielder is coming off a 2016 NWSL season with Reign FC in which she appeared in five matches, scoring one goal and tallying one assist.

The January training camp will be a key evaluation period for Ellis to choose a squad for the upcoming SheBelieves Cup, which ‚¬Å  - ‚¬Å as the inaugural tournament last year ‚¬Å  - ‚¬Å will feature four of the world's top-five ranked teams in the USA (1), Germany (2), France (3) and England (5).

The U.S. Women's National Team and U.S. Soccer will continue to operate under the Collective Bargaining Agreement in its current form as they continue negotiations into the new year.
