Meet WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund at Harbor Yard

(Bridgeport, Conn. - August 7, 2014) - The Bridgeport Bluefish have announced that WWE Hall of Fame Wrestler Bob Backlund will be appearing at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard for the Bridgeport Bluefish game against the Lancaster Barnstormers on Saturday, August 9.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet Backlund before the game on Saturday in a one-hour meet and greet session during the game in the party suites at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Tickets for the meet and greet event are $30, which include a ticket for Saturday evening's game and the opportunity to take pictures and chat with the WWE Hall of Fame wrestler. Backlund will also be throwing out the first pitch before the beginning of the game.

"We are very happy to have WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund here in Bridgeport on Saturday," said Assistant General Manager Jamie Toole. "With WWE headquarters right down the road in Stamford and a big wrestling fan base in this area, it will be a great event having one of the best wrestlers in WWE history here at the ballpark."

Backlund has been involved with the WWE for over 30 years and was the second longest WWE Champion in history, a streak that spanned 1,470 days. Currently Backlund does not compete with the company but has made appearances on various WWE shows in the past few years.
