Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- With the holiday season upon us, the Rockford IceHogs along with its players and fans will join in on the season of giving. Tonight fans can meet some members of this season's IceHogs club at Players Pizza Pub from 7-9 p.m. as the IceHogs participate in a benefit for the Motherhouse Crisis Nursery.

Fans who come out to Players Pizza Pub, located at 5100 Spooner Dr. by Sportscore I, are encouraged to bring toys for kids ranging from infants to seven-years old. Every fan that brings two or more toys to tonight's event will get their picture with an IceHogs player. It is suggested, however, that no gifts of toy guns, knives or other violent type toys be donated.

IceHogs skaters Robin Big Snake, Luke Fritshaw, Chaz Johnson, Jason Notermann and Jason Ralph will be at Players Pizza Pub from 7:30-8:30 p.m. signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans. The IceHogs mascot, Hamilton E. Hog, will also be in attendance tonight.

Players Pizza Pub will also have food and drink specials and a $10 cash donation to the Motherhouse Crisis Nursery will get you an ornament on the Pub's Christmas tree. If you can't make it out to Players Pizza Pub tonight, but still wish to donate to the Motherhouse Crisis Nursery, toys can be donated through this Friday, Dec. 1 at B&B Park Bowl.

For questions about tonight's events, contact the IceHogs office at (815) 986-6465.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 9 vs. Chicago Hounds. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Hounds hook up once again at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs hockey puck from Bryden Motors. The game also marks the Hogs Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuffed bear to the game and after the IceHogs score its first goal, fans can toss the bears onto the ice. The Teddy Bears will then be collected and distributed to local hospitals and the Mountain of Toys.
