WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts lost 3-2 to the Lincoln Saltdogs at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Thursday night.

Gabe Medina took a no-hitter into the top of the eighth, but Lincoln scored twice to take away a 2-1 Wingnuts' lead.

Behind in the count 0-1, Roberto Alvarez broke up the no-hit bid with a soft line drive off the end of his bat that took a big hop over the glove of a diving Steve Pearson by the first base line for a double. Pat Trettel followed with a two-run home run that was just fair inside the left field pole to give Lincoln a 3-2 lead.

The Wingnuts had captured the lead in the previous half-inning. Down 1-0, Jorge Cortes extended his hitting to 12 games with a lead off single against starter Chris Cullen. After Jackson Melian moved Cortes to second with a walk, Mario Delgado hit a groundball off of home plate to advance the runners. Jeff Christy was hit by a pitch to load the bases, setting up a first-pitch single to center by Steve Pearson that scored Cortes and Melian.

Medina carried his no-hit bid for most of the night trailing 1-0 after the Saltdogs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an error by Josh Horn that scored Albenis Machado from second with two outs.
