Abbotsford Heat News Release
Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat announced today several important media partnerships for the 2012-13 American Hockey League season. Fans will have access to Heat games through multiple media streams - satellite radio, standard radio, online streaming and select nationally televised on Sportsnet. These partnerships will provide unprecedented exposure and coverage for the fourth season of Abbotsford Heat hockey.
Teamradio.ca and Abbotsfordheat.com
Every Heat game this season will be broadcast online at TeamRadio.ca and Abbotsfordheat.com. The Heat team up with British Columbia's premier all-sports radio platform to bring full coverage of all 76 Abbotsford Heat regular season games. Team 1040, Team 1410, and TeamRadio.ca will all have consistent Heat content and news throughout the 2012-2013 AHL season.
Sportsnet One
Sportsnet One will broadcast AHL regular season games from all four Canadian teams in 2012. Sportsnet coverage of select Abbotsford Heat games will continue for the duration of the NHL work-stoppage. The first Heat game on Sportsnet One will be the October 20th home game against the Chicago Wolves (AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks).
Sirius/XM Satellite Radio
With the cancellation of NHL games through October 24th, Sirius/XM is broadcasting AHL hockey games to over 18 million subscribers in North America. Sirius/XM has previously carried AHL Calder Cup Playoff hockey, including a 2012 Heat playoff game. The first four Heat games of the 2012-13 AHL season will all be broadcast on Sirius/XM.
Sportsnet 960 The Fan
Sportsnet 960 The Fan in Calgary is the official radio broadcast partner of the Calgary Flames. Sportsnet 960 will carry Heat games throughout the 2012-13 season, keeping listeners in Southern Alberta up to date on the Abbotsford Heat and the Flames' top prospects. This partnership continues from the 2011-12 AHL season.
Ryan Pinder (@RyanPinder) returns for his second season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Abbotsford Heat. This season Ryan will be joined by colour commentators Harrison Mooney (hockey blogger with Pass it to Bulis and Yahoo! Sports Puck Daddy @HarrisonMooney), and Vanni DeBartolo (@VanniDeBartolo). Fans are encouraged to interact on twitter with the Heat broadcast team during games for an integrated broadcast experience.
The Heat's home opener and season opening weekend against the Peoria Rivermen (AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues) is this Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Center. Both opening weekend games can be heard on TeamRadio.ca and Sirius/XM Radio.
