
Mechanics defeat the Wings 5-2!

KALAMAZOO, MI-Chris Gignac and the Motor City Mechanics knock off the Kalamazoo Wings 5-2 tonight at Wings Stadium.
Vlad Serov started the scoring for the Mechanics at 7:57 of the first period and Adam Edinger scored his 35th goal of the season at 16:01 to give the Mechanics the 2-0 lead at intermission.
In the second period, Chris Gignac scored his third goal in his past two games. Gignac scored two goals in his debut from injury on Sunday versus the Fort Wayne Komets. Gignac now has a four game goal scoring streak dating back to January 8th.
Greg Bullock and Brent Gretzky tallied the other goals in the third period. Rod Branch made his 48th start and won his 24th game by making 38 saves.
Tomorrow, Saturday February 18th, the Mechanics welcome to the Great Lakes Sports City Superior Arena, Darren McCarty as he will be on hand to drop the first puck as the Mechanics face-off against the rival Port Huron Flags at 7:30 PM.

The "Name that Line" contest is underway as many entries have already been submitted. Fans have until midnight on February 28th to submit their entries to name the Edinger, Szabo, Gretzky line. The winning name will be revealed on March 3rd during the first intermission.
