Missouri River Otters News Release

Lonnie Loach scored two goals as the Missouri River Otters powered past the Port Huron Flags 3-2 Friday night at McMorran Arena.

The lone goal in the first period came less than a minute in as Scott Horvath took a perfect feed from Noah Whyte and flipped a shot top-shelf to put the Flags up 1-0. Neither team scored in the second period and through two periods the teams were a combined 0-for-13 on the power play, including four two-man advantages. The River Otters came out like gangbusters in the third period, getting three power play goals in the first seven minutes to take a 3-1 lead. The first came on a rocket from the slot by Loach, the second on a rebound shot by Mark Odut, and the third on another howitzer by Loach. Trevor Edwards added a late goal for the Flags, but it was too little too late as the River Otters won 3-2. Kevin Reiter earned the win while Scott Hay recorded the loss.

The River Otters travel to Quad City to take on the Mallards Saturday night at MARK. The puck drops at 7:05 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 FM and the B2 Networks, located at www.riverotters.com.
