December 18, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Motor City Mechanics News Release
Mechanic Brent Gretzky returned to Brantford, Ontario this past Friday to be with his mother Phyllis who is battling lung cancer. Brent who missed Friday's Mechanics game in Muskegon and last night's home game against Port Huron will also miss today's 5pm home game against the Flint Generals. Today the first 500 kids will receive a free Brent Gretzky T-shirt on Brent Gretzky day. The Brent Gretzky post game autograph session scheduled for today will obviously be moved to a later date.
On behalf of the entire Mechanics organization we send out our thoughts and prayers to the Gretzky family during this difficult time. Hockey is the most passionate game in the world!! But it is just a game!
Brent Gretzky will remain on indefinite family leave.
