
McWhinney to Miss Rest of Season

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that goaltender Dan McWhinney will miss the rest of the season after undergoing an emergency appendectomy at Huntsville Hospital last night.
McWhinney had started 47 games for the Havoc this season and posted an 18-21-6 record with a 2.82 goals against average and a 91.8 save percentage. He has recorded three shutouts. He is tied for third in the SPHL in wins, eighth in goals against average and tied for fourth in save percentage.
Former Havoc goaltender, Ross Cherry, will serve as the emergency backup tonight as Jesse Kallechy gets the start.
The Havoc will host the Knoxville Ice Bears tonight on Breland Homes Ice at Propst Arena before traveling to Knoxville on Friday night. They will return home on Saturday night against the Fayetteville FireAntz for the final game of the season. They remain three points ahead of Augusta for the eighth and final playoff spot.
