Ice Flyers Release 2013 First Round Home Playoff Dates

Pensacola, Fla. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers have announced their home playoff dates for the first round of the 2013 SPHL President's Cup playoffs.

The Ice Flyers will play Game Two on Saturday, Mar. 30 at 7:05 p.m. If necessary, Game Three will take place Sunday, Mar. 31 at 6:05 p.m.

Their first round opponent has yet to be determined as there are still too many scenarios that could occur by the end of the final regular season weekend coming up. Game One will be played on the road. Chances are that it will be played either Thursday, Mar. 28 or Friday, Mar. 29. Once the matchups have been finalized, the complete round one playoffs dates will be released.

There are three rounds with each being a best-of-three series. The first round must be played between Monday, Mar. 25 and Sunday, Mar. 31, the second round between Monday, Apr. 1 and Sunday, Apr. 7 and the third round will happen between Monday, Apr. 8 and Sunday, Apr. 14.

The SPHL and the two organizations playing for the President's Cup can choose to play a best-of-five series and extend the finals by one week prior to the start of the finals as long as certain scenarios take place.

To finish the 2012-13 regular season, the Ice Flyers play on the road Friday night in Columbus and then Saturday night in Biloxi versus the Surge. The final regular season game takes place Sunday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. versus the Louisiana IceGators. If the Ice Flyers win Friday and Saturday, they will be playing for the regular season championship on Sunday.

Playoff tickets will be available at the Pensacola Bay Center Box Office or online at ticketmaster.com on the Monday of each round. Season ticket holders still have time to reserve their seats for the playoff home games that were not included in their season ticket package. Season ticket holders can sign up at any home game or in the Ice Flyers' office.
