
McSharks Raising Money for Ronald McDonald House

Wilmington, N.C. - On Thursday, August 2, the Wilmington McSharks will take to the field in support of the Ronald McDonald Houses of North Carolina.
As one of many ways in which the Sharks are giving back to the community this summer, the team will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to benefit the missions of the Ronald McDonald House. Bidding has already started on the team's official website, www.wilmingtonsharks.com, with the minimum for each jersey set at $50.
In the other jersey auction the Sharks have had this summer, Save Second Base night on July 14, the club raised $730 for the Pretty in Pink Foundation. The club has also contributed funds towards Wilmington's Residential Adolescent Achievement Place (WRAAP) and Bryan Britt, and will raise even more through the K's for Canines campaign in conjunction with Paws Place Animal Rescue.
The Wilmington Sharks are members of Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Preparing for its 16th season, The Coastal Plain League features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer.
