McNulty Named Oakley/CHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced today that goaltender Kyle McNulty has been named the Oakley/CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 10.
McNulty earned three wins in three contests against the Amarillo Gorillas and the expansion Missouri Mavericks last week, turning aside 82 of 88 shots faced for a.931 save percentage (SV%) and helping his club extend its season-long win streak to four games.
The Wakefield, Rhode Island, native recorded his first shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over the Gorillas on Wednesday, Jan. 6, steering aside all 28 shots faced.
McNulty followed up Wednesday night's outing with a 21-save performance on Friday in the Sundogs' 4-1 win over the Mavericks, his third win in as many games. The third-year pro's shutout streak of 154:54 came to an end after Missouri tallied a goal with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation.
On Saturday, the 5-foot-11, 178-pound backstop won his and his club's fourth straight, 6-5 in a shootout, turning aside 33 of 38 shots including all five Missouri skaters in the shootout.
Allowing just seven goals in his last four appearances, McNulty first caught fire in a 5-1 win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on January 2, stopping 27 of 28 shots faced. Through his last four games, McNulty has turned aside 109 of 116 shots for a.939 SV% and a 1.75 goals against average (GAA).
McNulty is 6-10-1 on the year with a 3.25 GAA and a.889 SV%.
