Tulsa Oilers News Release
All-Star Break:The Tulsa Oilers and the rest of the Central Hockey League will celebrate the league's all-star game this week on Wednesday. The south Texas all-stars (comprised of teams from the Laredo Bucks, Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, and Corpus Christi IceRays) will meet the all-stars from the rest of the league in the CHL all-star game presented by Laredo Energy. The Laredo Bucks are the host team. The game can be viewed on line at CHL TV.
Just One: When regular season action resumes for the Oilers, they will have just one game this week, when they visit the Texas Brahmas on Friday at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and viewed at CHL TV.
Won & Done: The Oilers had just one game last week, posting a 4-1 win over the Wichita Thunder. Troy Riddle led the way with a goal and assist. Thomas Harrison picked up his first goal of the season, while Jeff Gumaer, and Derek Eastman also scored for the Oilers. It was the Oilers last game in the Kansas Coliseum. They will play their next game in Wichita in the INTRUST Bank Arena on January 23rd.
Fire Away: The Oilers had 31 shots on goal in the win at Wichita, with every skater in the line up registering at least one shot on goal.
Star Caig: Right winger T.J. Caig will represent the Oilers in the CHL all-star game, presented by Laredo Energy. The Oilers had the top vote getter in the league in center Rob Hisey, but he has since signed a contract with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (where he has scored five goals and two assists for seven points in seven games).
Also There: Oilers equipment manager Steve Enlow is also representing the Oilers at the all-star game, on the support staff for the CHL all-stars.
