McDonalds and Mad Ants Team up to Recognize High School Athletes

Fort Wayne, IN (March 8, 2012) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants have partnered with Fort Wayne-area McDonald's restaurants to present the McDonald'sR High School Players of the Month. For the month of February, McDonald's and the Mad Ants have selected V.J. Beachem from New Haven High School and Bailey Farley from Canterbury High School. They will be recognized at the Mad Ants game this Sunday, March 11th.

V.J. Beachem is a junior at New Haven High School and averaged 20 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He is committed to play collegiately at Notre Dame.

Bailey Farley is a junior at Canterbury High School and averaged 20.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game over the month of February. She helped Canterbury secure the 1A State Title this past weekend when she scored 15 points in the win over Northeast Dubois High School. Bailey has already committed to play basketball at Loyola University of Chicago.

McDonald's and the Mad Ants have also teamed up to help collect pop tabs for The Ronald McDonald House CharitiesR of Northeastern Indiana at Parkview Hospital. The Mad Ants will be collecting tabs at every Sunday home game this season. Fans who donate tabs will receive a free treat from McDonalds! Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing to be upgraded to courtside seats at that game.

The Mad Ants take on the Tulsa 66ers this Sunday, March 11th in a 5:00pm game at the Memorial Coliseum.
