
Maine Red Claws Defeat Fort Wayne Mad Ants

FORT WAYNE, IN (March 8th, 2012) - Morris Almond (37) and Kenny Hayes (25) combined for 62 points to give the Red Claws the 114-104 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Hayes added an impressive 15 rebounds and 6 assists.
The first twelve minutes was an offensive showcase as the Red Claws had three of their players scored in double figures to give them 40 first quarter points. The second was more of the same as the Red Claws led 70-50 heading into the locker rooms at the half.
The Mad Ants picked up the defense in the third and outscored the Red Claws 28-25 but they still trailed the Red Claws 78-95 going into the final period. In the fourth, the Mad Ants outscored the Red Claws 26-19 including a late 10 points from Cameron Jones but it was not enough and the Red Claws sailed to a victory.
Behind Almond and Hayes' impressive performances, Lawrence Hill and Courntey Pigram added 15 apiece.
Charles Garcia led the way for the Ants with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jones finished with 18 and Anthony Goods finished with 17 off of the bench.
