MANCHESTER, NH - Mike McDade blasted his 12th home run of the season on Friday night, but the Fisher Cats (26-45) dropped their series opener with the Harrisburg Senators, 8-1. The loss completes the first half of the season - 71 games - with the Fisher Cats compiling a .366 winning percentage at the midway point.

Harrisburg opened the scoring against Deck McGuire (L; 2-9) with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. McDade pulled the Fisher Cats even on the first pitch of the second, drilling a solo homer off the right field light tower to push the score to 1-1.

The Senators re-took the lead with a solo home run from Jimmy Van Ostrand to lead off the fourth inning. A five-run sixth inning, compounded with a 21-minute rain delay, broke the game open for Harrisburg (37-35).

McGuire took the loss, giving up four earned runs in five-plus innings. He allowed five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Aaron Loup was charged with three earned runs in relief, failing to record an out. Matt Daly and Scott Gracey covered the final four innings with Gracey allowing a run in the ninth to cap the scoring.

McDade finished the game 2-4 with a single and his team-best 40th RBI. Ryan Goins extended his hitting streak to six games with a single in the first inning. Brad McElroy also had a pair of hits in the losing effort.

The series continues on Saturday night with Atlas Fireworks and USA Subs Baseball Bingo. First pitch is at 7:05 PM. To purchase tickets, visit www.nhfishercats.com.
