SPRINGDALE, AR- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals got a walk-off single from Alex McClure in a 3-2 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Monday afternoon. The win moves the Naturals back to .500 in the second half of the season.
Sugar Ray Marimon had a marvelous Double-A debut working six innings allowing four hits and one run, while striking out four. His counter part Matt Oye was just as good. Oye went eight innings allowing eight hits and two runs for the Travelers.
The Naturals got on the board first getting an RBI single from Paulo Orlando in the first inning. They tacked on another run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run from Lorenzo Cain.
The Travelers cut the lead in half getting a solo home run from Travis Witherspoon. Ryan Dennick (4-1) came on in relief for the Naturals and worked two perfect innings, before surrendering a solo home run to Jean Segura that tied the game in the top half of the ninth inning.
Andrew Taylor (2-2) took the loss working two thirds of an inning and allowing one run. Taylor hit Carlo Testa and then walked Mario Lisson putting runner on first and second. McClure ripped a single into left field to deliver Tesat and a Naturals win.
The Naturals head into the All-Star break, and will be back in action on June 29 in Corpus Christi at 7:05 PM. The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
