Mayhem Win against Evansville for Sixth Straight Victory

MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem travelled to Evansville, IN tonight to face the Evansville Thunderbolts. The team skated away with a hard-fought 3-1 victory. These two teams will face off again tomorrow at 5:00 pm EST.

The game was scoreless through the first period, but 2:25 into the second period, Daniel Echeverri scored to put the Mayhem up 1-0 off of a pass from Collin MacDonald. With 1:06 left in the second, John Siemer scored his fifth goal of the season to put Macon up 2-0 going into the second intermission. Daniel Gentzler and Dennis Sicard both picked up their fifth assists of the season on the goal.

Early in the third period, Evansville forward Dave Williams scored to bring the game to 2-1, assisted by Tommy Fiorentino and Frank Schumacher. With 16.6 seconds left in the game, Collin MacDonald scored an empty net goal to give Macon a 3-1 lead that would hold for the remainder of the game.

NOTABLE STATS

With the win, the Mayhem now sit at 7-1-1 on the season, and won their sixth straight game tonight. They will go for their seventh consecutive victory tomorrow against Evansville.

John Siemer now has 12 points on the season and still leads the team in points.

Jordan Ruby made 28 saves on 29 shots, moving to 3-0-0 on the season.
