MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem tied a season-high in single game goals in tonight's game, as they defeated the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs by score of 6-3.
The Mayhem started out the goal scoring with a power play goal from Jake Trask, who scored off of a great spinning backhand pass from Matt Summers. Just 100 seconds later, Collin MacDonald scored on a one-timer to give the Mayhem the quick two-goal lead.
The hometown team would continue their scoring onslaught in the second period, as Stephen Pierog scored on a rebound to make it 3-0. Matt Summers would then score on a two-on-one 37 seconds later. He and Pierog used a give-and-go to give the Mayhem the four-goal lead. Roanoke would answer with a goal from Dmytro Babenko to make it 4-1.
Macon would score the first two goals of the period for the third time of the game, as Matt Johnson and Collin MacDonald both scored on one-timers to make it a 6-1 game. Roanoke would get the final two goals of the game from Mike Driscoll and Zach Tatrn to make it 6-3, but that would be the final score, as the Mayhem picked up their 37th victory of the regular season.
