
Mayhem Sign Defenseman Nimanis While Placing

MACON, GA- The Macon Mayhem and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kerr announced today the signing of defenseman Kristaps Nimanis. To clear space for Nimanis on the roster, the Mayhem have placed defenseman Michael Holland on waivers.
Nimanis, 23, has played 15 games for the Fayetteville FireAntz this season - recording six points and a plus-13 plus-minus. He cleared waivers after being placed on waivers on March 31. Prior to his time in Fayetteville this season, the Latvian-native played 32 games in the Federal Hockey League for the Port Huron Prowlers and the Berlin River Drivers - scoring seven goals and tallying 22 assists. The 6-1, 210-pound defenseman has also spent time in professional leagues in Latvia, Kasakhstan, and Finland.
Holland, 25, signed with the Mayhem on March 25 after completing his collegiate career at Rochester Institute of Technology. In nine games for Macon, he scored one goal and tallied two assists.
