
Mayhem Look to Get Back on Track on Monster Jam Halloween Night

MACON, GA- After dropping their first two games of the season to the Pensacola Ice Flyers and the Huntsville Havoc, the Macon Mayhem look to pick up their first win of the season this weekend against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs and the Evansville Thunderbolts.
WEEKEND REVIEW
The Mayhem did not get off to the start they were looking for to their season, dropping both of their opening matchups against Pensacola and Huntsville. Friday night, the Ice Flyers handed the Mayhem a 4-0 shutout loss, as reigning SPHL MVP Sean Bonar made 36 saves in his shutout win. The next night, Daniel Echeverri scored the first goal of the Mayhem's season, but the team ultimately lost to the Havoc 5-1.
WEEKEND PREVIEW
The Mayhem host the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on Friday night for Monster Jam Halloween Night. Monster Mutant athlete Coty Saucier will be in attendance on Friday night to promote Monster Jam 2017 at the Macon Centreplex on December 1st and 2nd, and he will be signing autographs for fans immediately following the game. Fans are also encouraged to dress in their best Halloween costumes to the game to celebrate the holiday.

Leading Scorer: Riley Spraggs and Evan Schultz (2 points)
Leading Goaltender: Ryan de Melo (0-1-0, 4.07 GAA, .895 SV%)
The Rail Yard Dawgs played one game opening weekend of the SPHL, losing 4-3 to the Fayetteville Marksmen on Friday night. After going down 1-0, Roanoke scored three unanswered goals to go up 3-1 before allowing three unanswered goals to lose 4-3.
Leading returning scorer Riley Spraggs scored two goals, while returning defenseman Evan Schultz recorded two points. Returning goaltender Ryan de Melo started in net, allowing four goals on 38 shots.
Evansville Thunderbolts Record: 0-0-1 (1 point)
Leading Scorer: Justin MacDonald and Frank Schumacher (2 points)
Leading Goaltender: Jonah Imoo (0-1-0, 3.70 GAA, .892 SV%)
The Evansville Thunderbolts also only played one game on opening weekend, as they lost 5-4 in a shootout at home to the Peoria Rivermen. After taking a commanding 4-1 lead in the second period, the Rivermen scored three unanswered goals to tie the game at 4-4. After no goals in overtime, the Thunderbolts were defeated 2-0 in a shootout.
Veteran Justin MacDonald returned to Evansville after spending much of last season in the ECHL, scoring one goal and tallying one assist in their opener. Frank Schumacher, who also spent time in the ECHL last season also recorded two points in the game. Goaltender Jonah Imoo allowed four goals on 37 shots in his Thunderbolts debut.
