Missouri River Otters News Release

St. Charles, MO --- The Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League are proud to announce that Jamal Mayers will serve as the team's assistant coach during the Colonial Cup Playoffs.

"Although I'm obviously disappointed about not being able to play," Mayers said, "I'm looking forward to learning from Coach Kaminski and helping out in any way I can."

Mayers is ineligible to play in the Colonial Cup Playoffs because of a UHL rule that requires players that spent time in Europe to play in four UHL games before March 11. Mayers will join River Otters Head Coach Kevin Kaminski behind the bench,

"He brings great experience to our coaching staff," Kaminski said. "Specifically he'll help run our defensive changes and help out with the specialty teams."

The River Otters next game is Friday, April 15 against the Fort Wayne Komets at the Allen County Coliseum. The puck drops at 8:00 PM CDT and all of the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the B2 Webcast located at www.riverotters.com.
