Maxwell leads Rangers 6-4 over Knights

Brandon Maxwell led the Kitchener Rangers to a 6-4 win over the London Knights, stopping 37 of 41 shots.

The Rangers scored on their first shot on net when Michael Catenacci beat Michael Hutchinson at the 6:11 mark of the first period. The Rangers headed to the dressing room with a 1-0 lead after the opening period.

Jared Knight evened the score with a power play goal for London at the 5:48 mark of the second period. Jeff Skinner capitalized on a Rangers power play with his 15th goal of the season to put Kitchener up 2-1. London's Justin Taylor replied with a rebound goal at the 15:38 mark to even the score at 2-2. Tyler Randell one-timed a shot from the slot after being set up by Ryan Murphy to again give the Rangers a one-goal lead. Chris MacKinnon scored off of a high slap shot that beat Hutchinson with 24-seconds left in the second period and send the Rangers to the dressing room with a 4-2 lead.

Kitchener's Andrew Crescenzi scored his first Ontario Hockey League goal midway through the third period to give the Rangers a 5-2 lead. The Knight's scored two late short-handed markers in under 1-minute to make it a one-goal game with 29-seconds left on the clock. Skinner closed out the game with an empty net goal giving the Rangers a 6-4 win.

The Rangers travel to Plymouth tomorrow for a 7:05 game against the Whalers. They then return to action in Kingston on Friday, November 20 and Ottawa on Sunday, November 22 at 2:00pm.
