The Mavericks head to Colorado for the first time looking for their first win when they take on the defending Northern Conference Champion Colorado Eagles. Colorado earned three points in two games last weekend against the defending President's Cup Champion Texas Brahmas. The Eagles have been to the President's Cup Finals in each of the last three seasons losing the past two seasons and winning the cup in 2007.

Saturday, October 24 - Missouri Mavericks at Amarillo Gorillas, 7:05 p.m. CDT

Missouri will travel to Amarillo after the game Friday night to take on the Amarillo Gorillas on Saturday evening. It is the first of three games between the teams this season. Mavericks' goaltender Mike Gorman played in 33 games for the Gorillas last season, and forward Bill Vandermeer played the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons with Amarillo.

Friday, October 16 - Missouri 2 at Rapid City 3

The Missouri Mavericks lost their inaugural season opener Friday night, 3-2, to the Rapid City Rush at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena. Carlyle Lewis and Sam Bowles each tallied a goal for the Mavericks, but Rapid City forward Colt King's third period goal proved to be the difference. King had two goals in the contest and was the game's first star. Rush goaltender Miguel Beaudry stopped 24 of 26 shots for his first win of the season while Mavericks goaltender Mike Gorman finished with 32 saves on 35 shots. The Mavericks were without two forwards for their opening game. Kyle Bochek (injury) and Bill Vandermeer (illness) each sat out the team's first game.

Saturday, October 17 - Missouri 2 at Rapid City 5

The Rapid City Rush completed a weekend sweep over the Missouri Mavericks Saturday night with a 5-2 win at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena. In a penalty filled affair, the Rush scored four power play goals to propel them to a 2-0-0 record.

Brendon Hodge scored two power play goals for the Rush who finished 4-15 on the power play for the game. Scott Wray, Jamie VanderVeeken and Colt King also scored for the Rush who will host the Arizona Sundogs for a pair of games next weekend. Karey Pieper scored his first pro goal and Sam Perkins tallied the other goal for Missouri. Mavericks' goaltender Doug Groenestege made 40 saves on 45 shots in his debut with the team. Two other Mavericks' celebrated career milestones as Jeff Christian played in his 1,200th pro game and Chad Hinz had his 400th pro point with an assist in the first period. For the second straight game, Bill Vandermeer (illness) and Kyle Bochek (injury) did not play.

Milestones - Two Mavericks' players celebrated career milestones over the weekend. Jeff Christian played in his 1,200th pro game on Saturday night and Chad Hinz had his 400th pro point with an assist in the first period Saturday.

Inaugural Season - The Mavericks and the Allen Americans join the 15-team Central Hockey League for the 2009-10 season. Rapid City joins the teams as the youngest three teams in the CHL. There was no expansion draft for the newest teams this season. Mavericks' Head Coach Scott Hillman and player/assistant coach Jeff Christian recruited from scratch to assemble the inaugural roster.

First-Year Teams - Since the 2003-04 season, there have been seven expansion teams in the CHL, nine including Missouri and Allen this season. Of the seven expansion teams, three of those teams made the playoffs in their first season of existence. Two of the teams (Colorado and Arizona) won the Ray Miron President's Cup in their second year.

On the Air - KCWJ 1030-AM will broadcast every game, home and away, for the Mavericks' 2009-10 inaugural season. Friday's game against the Eagles and October 30 will be joined in progress or delayed, however all games are available live online through the Mavericks' website (www.MissouriMavericks.com).

CHL-TV - In addition to live broadcasts on KCWJ, the Central Hockey League and INSINC will give fans the opportunity to watch every CHL game live online through CHL-TV (http://chltv.insinc.com ). Fans can purchase a CHL-TV Season Pass for only $299.95 which gives access to all CHL games (live and archived) from all teams throughout the regular season. Other packages available include the Monthly Complete Pass for $57.95 and the Monthly Live Pass for $34.95. As a special reward for CHL team's season ticket holders, a Season Ticket Holder's Pass is available for $89.95 that will give fans access to all 32 of their team's road contests. This special pass is available to team's season ticket holders only. Individual games can be purchased on a pay-per-view basis for $5.95 and all archived games are available for $3.95 per game.
