Back at BOK: The Tulsa Oilers have their home opener this week. They will travel to Wichita to play the Thunder on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Then the Oilers will play their first game of the season at the BOK Center on Saturday at 7:35 p.m., also against Wichita.
Good Start: The Oilers spotted Mississippi a 2-0 lead then scored six straight goals on the road en route to a 6-3 season opening win over the RiverKings.
Hats Off: Rob Hisey scored the first goal of the season for the Oilers...and the second...and the third. His hat trick erased that 2-0 deficit and a give the Oilers the lead they would never relinquish.
Spread Out: Friday's win showed the Oilers do have some depth. Eleven players had points in the game. And Jake Riddle, Dallas Steward, and Mike Beausoleil each had two points.
Short Stuff: The Oilers are one of only five teams that scored a shorthanded goal on the weekend. The defending Ray Miron President Cup champion Texas Brahmas scored three shorthanded goals in their two games. Colorado, Mississippi, and Rio Grande Valley are the other teams, along with the Oilers, with a shorthanded goal.
Festival: While the game starts at 7:35 p.m. Saturday night, the opening night festivities begin well before that. Doors at the BOK Center will open at 6:05. Fans can enjoy live music, Jupiter jumps for the kids, and other pregame activities.
