
Mavericks Get Carzo and Schempp Back from Bridgeport

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Missouri Mavericks announced today that forwards Rocco Carzo and Kyle Schempp have returned to the team from the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Carzo was released from his professional tryout and Schempp was reassigned by the New York Islanders from Bridgeport.
Carzo was loaned to Bridgeport on December 6 and appeared in one game for the Sound Tigers. He has suited up in nine AHL games between Bridgeport, San Diego and Norfolk over his four year career, and has picked up one assist. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound center returns to the Mavericks where he ranks third on the club with 14 points (7g, 7a) in 20 games. Carzo enjoyed a stretch where he scored five goals in seven games from November 21 to December 3 prior to his call up.
Schempp was reassigned by the New York Islanders to Bridgeport, also on December 6, and picked up an assist in two games with the Sound Tigers. A sixth-round draft pick (#155 overall) by the New York Islanders in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Schempp has five points (3g, 2a) in 13 games for the Mavericks. A 6-foot-0, 180-pound rookie, Schempp had 66 points (29g, 37a) over 121 games with the Ferris State Bulldogs prior to turning pro.
