ESTERO, Fla. - The week of firsts continues for the Missouri Mavericks tonight. After hosting their first-ever Education Day Game on Tuesday, the Mavericks are preparing to play the first game in team history in the state of Florida against the Everblades.

CHECKING THE RIVALRY
The Mavericks are facing the Everblades today for the first and only meeting of the season, and the first time in the history of either team. At 1,380 miles driving distance, tonight's game will be the furthest the Mavericks have traveled for a game within the continental United States. It's exceeded only by the Mavericks' trip to Alaska to open the 2015-16 season. Florida comes into tonight's game as the only team in the league without a regulation loss after last night's overtime tilt with Greenville. The Mavericks have been idle since Tuesday's 5-3 win over Allen and will, for the first time this season, be rested while taking on an opponent that played the night before.
ONE-TIMER * Kevin Tansey is the 10th defenseman to dress in a game for the Mavericks this season, and the fourth rookie. Additionally, he is the seventh defenseman sent to the Mavericks from the AHL ranks. He originally signed with the Mavericks but earned an AHL contract from Chicago in training camp.
