Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release

Grand Prairie, TX. Kieran Mattison provided six brilliant innings of work and takes the bat out of the Diablos' hands for the 4-1 win.

In his first start since a stint on the disabled list, Mattison gave up only one run in the fourth when Tyler Johnson hit a line drive single into left to score Jorge Alvarez to make the score 3-1.

Beyond that play he was nearly flawless in his six innings of work. He struck out seven on the way to his third win.

The only other time El Paso threatened was in the second when Juan Camacho one-hopped the ball in right for a double. Mattison walked the following hitter then struck out Tyler Johnson for the first out. The runners advanced on a swinging bunt to get the second out before Eddie Rodriguez struck out to strand the runners.

Offensively the AirHogs used the second and third to get out in front 3-0, adding a fourth run in the fifth.

Mike Conroy and Drew Holder led the way offensively, both going 2-4. Conroy unleashed his first triple in the fifth, scoring when Holder picked up his sixth RBI of the year.

The bullpen went three innings almost untouched. Luke Prihoda and James Morrison allowed just two hits as Morrison picked up his third save.

The team will travel to Shreveport-Bossier in hopes of gaining on Fort Worth as they still lead the south by nine games over Grand Prairie.

The team returns to QuikTrip Park for a three-game series against the Fort Worth Cats starting next Friday. Gates open at 6 p.m. and game time is 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call 972.504.9383 or visit www.airhogsbaseball.com.
