Kansas City Mavericks News Release
INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - Missouri Mavericks' defenseman Matt Stephenson has been suspended for one game by the Central Hockey League as a result of an incident during Friday night's game against the Rapid City Rush.
It was determined that Stephenson hit Rush player, Konrad Reeder, in the head area at approximately the 14:38 mark of the first period. Stephenson did serve a two minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct at the time of the incident, but was not assessed any further punishment during the game (#167).
Stephenson will sit out the Mavericks' game against the Rush this evening to serve his suspension.
The Mavericks get their chance at redemption tonight against the Rush at the Independence Events Center. Tickets are still available at the Silverstein Eye Centers Box Office. Puck drops at 7:05PM.
