Allen - The Denver Cutthroats and Allen Americans faced off for the second game in the weekend series on Saturday, January 11 at Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. The Denver Cutthroats fell scoreless to the Allen Americans 5-0.

Allen Americans Greger Hanson (Kale Kerbashian) scored the first goal of the night. Less than two minutes later, Americans Jonathan Lessard (Alex Lavoie, Jamie Schaafsma) doubled the lead 2-0 and closed the period.

The Americans scored their third goal of the night in the second period. Spencer Asuchak (Kerbashian, Tyler Ludwig) slapped a shot past Denver's Kent Patterson for the team's second short-handed goal during Saturday night's game.

In the final 20 minutes of regulation, the Denver Cutthroats remained scoreless after the Allen Americans scored the final two goals of the night. Jamie Schaafsma (Kerbashian, Mark Guggenberger) found the back of the Cutthroats net early in the third period. Teammate Kale Kerbashian (Garrett Klotz, Dallas Ehrhardt) sealed the Americans 5-0 victory with the team's fifth and final goal of the night. The Denver Cutthroats record now stands 18-10-6.

The Denver Cutthroats road series continues in Rapid City, South Dakota on Friday, January 17, Saturday, January 18 and Monday, January 20 against the Rapid City Rush. The Cutthroats return home to conclude the Colorado Tour at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail, Colorado on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.
