Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB. - The Canadian Football League announced Tuesday that quarterback Matt Nichols has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer for his work in last week's 31-1 win against the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
Nichols moved past Dieter Brock in establishing a new Bombers record for consecutive pass completions Friday with 19, just four shy of tying the record of 23 consecutive and the fourth-longest streak in CFL history.
Nichols finished the night 25 of 29 for 295 yards and two touchdown passes - the first to Andrew Harris covering 15 yards and the second to Kenny Lawler for 54 yards. The quarterback leads the CFL with 12 touchdown passes, and is now 35-14 as the Bombers starting quarterback since taking over in 2016.
