Matt Lindblad Becomes 21st Former Stampede Player to Skate in NHL

Sioux Falls, SD--Former Stampede star forward Matt Lindblad made his National Hockey League debut with the Boston Bruins Saturday afternoon at TD Garden as the Bruins topped Carolina Hurricanes 5 to 1. He becomes the 21st former Stampede player to skate in a NHL game.

The Winnetka, IL native saw 8:25 of ice time in the Bruins win. Prior to being called up by the Bruins, Lindblad posted 22 points (7g, 15a) in 43 games with the Providence Burins in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The left winger spent the 2009-10 season with the Stampede where he finished second on the team in scoring with 70 points (24g, 46a) in 57 games while leading the club to the Clark Cup Playoffs. He went on to play three years at Dartmouth College where he registered 80 points in 89 career games.

The Bruins are currently in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 45-17-5 record and 95 standings points. They will host the Minnesota Wild on Monday.
