Matt Elam Named IFL Defensive Player of the Week

HENDERSON - The Indoor Football League announced today that Vegas Knight Hawks defensive back Matt Elam has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week. Elam is the first Knight Hawk to ever win Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Elam anchored the Vegas defense in a 46-32 win over the Tulsa Oilers at The Dollar Loan Center. Playing his second game with the Knight Hawks this season, Elam recorded two interceptions. Elam also broke up two passes and logged three tackles. Prior to the victory, the Knight Hawks had five interceptions for the season.
Elam becomes the third Knight Hawk to win Player of the Week honors this season. Quarterback Daquan Neal has been named Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, and quarterback Joe Mancuso has also earned offensive honors.
The Vegas Knight Hawks will visit the Arizona Rattlers on Saturday, May 27. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT, and the game can be heard on 1230AM The Game or streamed on the IFL's YouTube channel.
