Matrix Extend Win Streak

January 16, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Montreal Royal News Release

Montreal, Canada. The ABA Montreal Matrix extended their winning streak to four games by downing the Harlem Strong Dogs 96-86 at the Pierre-Charbonneau Center. The Matrix, playing in front of an enthusiastic sellout crowd, took an early lead going up by as much as 27 before the end of the first half. However, with minutes left in the fourth quarter, Harlem cut the lead down to five. Nevertheless, the Matrix kept control by hitting 13 of 15 second half free-throws to keep Harlem at bay.

"We kept our cool throughout the game and we executed in the fourth quarter," said Matrix guard Phillippe Langlois. Saul Ibrahim led the way with 22 ponts and 10 rebounds. Six Matrix players finished with double-digit points. The Matrix now own a record of eight wins and nine losses.

The Matrix will look for a fifth consecutive win next Friday, Jan 20 at 7pm as the team hosts the Rochester RazorSharks at the Pierre-Charbonneau Centre. For more information, call 514 581 1591, email info.matrix@hotmail.com or visit www.montrealmatrixbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
