WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - Seuly Matias' bat was still hot in the Legends 5-2 victory over the visiting Charletson RiverDogs. Matias secured insurance runs with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, improving the Legends overall record to 2-0 and dropping the RiverDogs to 0-2.

The RiverDogs got on the board in the first inning after Oswaldo Cabrera reached on a leadoff double to left field. The next batter, Wilkerman Garcia brought him in with an RBI single, also to left field, and the RiverDogs led 1-0.

Charleston plated their final run of the game in the third inning. Steven Sensely blasted a one-out solo home run onto the roof of the Pepsi Party deck in right field, extending Charleston's lead to 2-0.

Lights out relief pitching held the RiverDogs scoreless for the remainder of the game. Carter Hope tossed 2.0 perfect innings, striking out three. Holden Capps pitched 3.0 innings allowing just one hit while striking out four. Sal Biasi pitched the ninth, allowing no hits on two runs with two strikeouts.

Lexington first struck in the third. Michael Gigliotti reached on a lead-off walk and then was joined on the base path by Nick Pratto. Gigliotti was able to score on an RBI single to left-centerfield by Seuly Matias, his first hit of the night, and the Legends were on the board trailing 2-1. Pratto was able to score on a hard hit groundball to the shortstop, Wilkerman Garcia and the game was tied at two runs each.

In the fourth, Sebastian Rivero reached on a two-base error, then moved to third on a bunt by Ricky Aracena. Rivero propelled the RiverDogs to a 3-2 lead when Glen Otto threw a wild pitch, and Rivero crossed the plate.

In the fifth inning, Pratto reached on a lead-off single up the middle. Seuly Matias then stepped up and blasted his third home run of the season over the left-centerfield wall, and the Legends won game two of the series, 5-2.

Pratto finished the night 3-5 at the plate with three singles and two runs scored. Matias had another strong showing at the plate with his third home run of the season, going 2-4 with three RBI and one run scored. Vince Vizcaino went 3-3 in his 2018 debut with two singles and a double.
