Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, are pleased to announce that center Shawn Mather has been named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the week of March 21-27. The announcement was made earlier this afternoon at the ECHL offices in Princeton.

Mather, 25, tallied five goals and eight points to help propel the Bullies to consecutive come-from-behind victories over his former club, the Johnstown Chiefs, on Saturday and Sunday at Historic Boardwalk Hall. Acquired from Johnstown on March 15 in exchange for future considerations, Mather became the second Bullies player to record a hat-trick this season when he accomplished the feat in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Chiefs. The Chatham, ON has notched seven goals and 12 points in his first six games with Atlantic City to establish new career-highs for goals and points in a single season. He is currently riding a four-game points streak dating back to March 19.

Mather joins center Derek Edwardson and former Bullies center Brett Nowak in winning ECHL Player of the Week honors this season.
