Atlantic City's Mather Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Atlantic City center Shawn Mather is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for March 21-27.

The 25-year-old Mather scored five goals and eight points while helping the Bullies go 2-1-0 to move into first place in the North Division where the top five teams are separated by five points.

Acquired in a March 15 trade with Johnstown, Mather had two assists in a 4-3 loss at Trenton on March 25. The 5-10 and 190-pound center then scored his first hat trick of the season in a 5-3 win against Johnstown on March 26 and had two goals and an assist in a 5-4 win against his former team on March 27.

Since joining the Bullies, Mather has had three multiple-goal games and two multiple-assist games, scoring 12 points (5g-7a) while helping Atlantic City go 4-2-0. The native of Chatham, Ontario has established career highs with 26 goals and 55 points in 62 games.

Mather began his professional career in the ECHL scoring 44 points (19g-25a) in 71 games with New Orleans in 2001-02. He returned to Johnstown in 2002-03, scoring eight points (3g-5a) in 16 games while also scoring five points (2g-3a) in 40 games with Saint John of the American Hockey League. In 2003-04, he scored 54 points (23g-31a) in 68 games with Johnstown and had one assist in three games with Binghamton of the AHL and one assist in one game with Cleveland of the AHL.

On behalf of Shawn Mather, a case of pucks will be donated to an Atlantic City area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 12,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
