INDEPENDENCE, Mo (February 21, 2015) - The undefeated Missouri Comets (19-0) and the Tacoma Stars (4-14) will face off for the first time in over two decades for the 2014/15 Major Arena Soccer League regular season finale at the Independence Events Center on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. CT.

The Comets earned a hard fought 6-3 victory the last time Tacoma was in Kansas City with St. Louis native Kevin Hundelt scoring the game-winning goal at Kemper Arena in front of 5,428 fans on March 24, 1991.

Head coach Vlatko Andonovski's team will return to the Independence Events Center after earning a dominating 21-4 victory over the Tulsa Revolution last Saturday.

On the other hand, Tacoma is coming fresh of winning the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) championship last weekend after defeating Bellingham United 6-2 at the Tacoma Soccer Center.

The MASL Central Division champions will be without midfielder Max Touloute who is practicing with USL Pro side Pittsburg Riverhounds until the end of this month. The Comets will be entering the match with an entirely healthy roster.

After last weekend's nine-point performance, league leader Leo Gibson set new league records for points and assists in a season. Currently he stands at 81 points with 40 goals and 41 assists. In addition, team captain is fourth in the MASL standings with 58 points coming from 35 tallies and 23 assists.

The Stars are led by forward Derek Johnson who has scored a total of seven goals and record two assists in six games since Tacoma took the Seattle Impact's spot and record in the league on January 15.

Since returning to the top level, head coach Darren Sawatsky's team's only victory came at home against the Turlock Express 12-2 two weeks ago.

Tacoma will play against the St. Louis Ambush tonight at the Family Arena before hitting I-70 West to face the Comets tomorrow afternoon.
