Reno 1868 FC News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Reno 1868 FC (5-2-5) travels to San Antonio FC (3-7-3) on Saturday for the first matchup of the year between two teams that are going different directions lately.
Reno 1868 FC is coming off their largest margin of victory this past weekend, a 4-0 win over their in-state rivals, the Las Vegas Lights.
Brian Brown, who will not be with the team in San Antonio due to a Jamaica National Team commitment, buried his eighth goal of the season to give 1868 FC a 2-0 lead and added his fifth assist of the season earlier in the match. Reno is undefeated in its last four matches dating back to May 4.
Meanwhile, San Antonio FC hasn't found the win column over their last five USL Championship matchups. In that time, they are 0-3-2.
San Antonio FC fell 2-1 on the road last Saturday in Sacramento. Sacramento Republic FC put in two late goals before the visitors slotted a ball into the back of the net in the 91st minute.
Despite the early struggles, San Antonio FC has seen success at Toyota Field this year with a 3-1-3 record and are 21-5-14 at their home confines since 2017. The two clubs have split results the prior two years in Texas, with 1868 FC gathering a 2-0 win last year and San Antonio FC taking a 4-0 victory in 2017.
Reno 1868 FC currently sits in a tie for third in the USL Championship Western Conference with 20 points, with San Antonio FC finds themselves tied for 15th with 12 points.
Saturday's match will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. PT at Toyota Field. The match can be streamed on ESPN+.
