New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls (14-13-6, 48 pts) travel North to face the Montreal Impact (11-17-5, 38 pts) on Sunday for Decision Day, presented by AT&T. Kickoff at Stade Saputo is set for 4 p.m. EST with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 3:30 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 4 p.m. EST.
New York and Montreal will square off for the 19th time in league history, having already faced one another earlier this season. The Impact bested the Red Bulls, 2-1 on May 8 in Red Bull Arena as two second-half goals erased an early Aaron Long first half goal to grab Montreal's first regular-season win at RBA. New York will aim to change their luck at Montreal as the Red Bulls are winless in their last seven trips (0-5-2) and have not recorded a goal in their last three.
New York has played well on the road as of late, going 3-3-0 away from Red Bull Arena in the last six matches. During that stretch, the Red Bulls have scored at least one goal in all six matches and tallied two clean sheets. New York has recorded 27 away league wins since 2015, which is tied for the most in MLS, per Opta.
Captain and goalkeeper Luis Robles recorded his third consecutive clean sheet on Sunday against D.C. United to raise his season total to nine and career total to 72. His nine shutouts are tied for fourth in MLS and his 72 career shutouts are eighth best in league history. The Fort Hauchuca, Arizona, native will look to add his name again in the franchise's record books for longest shutout streak (minutes) as he currently sits with 270 and is just 27 minutes off the 10th best mark, which he previously set during the 2013 season.
New York will wait to see their fate for their playoff seeding following their result and the results of D.C. United and Toronto FC on Decision Day. The Red Bulls can finish as high as the four seed and as low as the six seed.
