ATLANTA - Atlanta United returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 29 when it travels to face New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena in Leg Two of the 2018 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Championship. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on FS1/FOX Deportes.
Atlanta defeated New York 3-0 in Leg One of the Eastern Conference Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Sunday in front 70,016 fans. Josef Martinez, Franco Escobar and Tito Villalba scored goals for Atlanta, while the defense allowed just one shot on target on six attempts. Josef Martinez opened the scoring in the 32nd minute as he controlled a cross from Jeff Larentowicz and calmly beat goalkeeper Luis Robles with a shot to the far corner. Franco Escobar added the second goal in the 71st minute, striking a Julian Gressel pass with his first touch and into the upper right corner of the net. Substitute Tito Villallba added the third goal in stoppage time, collecting a pass from Escobar at the top of the box before turning, taking a touch and unleashing a left-footed shot that curved inside of the left post.
