
D.C. United Announce Contract Options

D.C. United News Release
D.C. United announced today that they have exercised the contract options of two players from the 2018 roster, bringing the club's roster to 15 players under contract for the 2019 MLS season.
United picked up the options of Luciano Acosta and Jalen Robinson.
Players already under contract for the 2019 season include Paul Arriola, Steven Birnbaum, Frédéric Brillant, Russell Canouse, Chris Durkin, Bill Hamid, Joseph Mora, Júnior Moreno, Zoltán Stieber, Ulises Segura, Chris Odoi-Atsem and David Ousted.
United did not exercise the options of Yamil Asad, Nick DeLeon, Vytautas Andriuškevi?ius, Kevin Ellis, Ian Harkes, Jared Jeffrey, Dane Kelly, Bruno Miranda and Kofi Opare.
Darren Mattocks, Oniel Fisher and Travis Worra are out of contract with the Black-and-Red, and Taylor Kemp announced his retirement earlier this month.
The club are also in discussions with several current players to return on new deals, including re-negotiating the loan/transfer option for Yamil Asad, whose MLS rights were retained by the Black-and-Red.
After today's announcement, United's active roster stands as follows:
Goalkeepers (2): Bill Hamid, David Ousted
Defenders (5): Steven Birnbaum, Frédéric Brillant, Joseph Mora, Chris Odoi-Atsem, Jalen Robinson
Midfielders (7): Luciano Acosta, Paul Arriola, Russell Canouse, Chris Durkin, Júnior Moreno, Ulises Segura, Zoltán Stieber
Forwards (1): Wayne Rooney
