MASL Eastern Conference Final Preview: Blast vs. Wave

Baltimore Players to Watch:

Vini Dantas, last year's Championship MVP, leads the Blast with five points and four goals this postseason. Daniel Peruzzi is second on the team with three goals in the playoffs. Jereme Raley has recorded one goal and two assists, while Jamie Thomas, Jonatas Melo, and Tony Donatelli each have one goal and one assist in the playoffs.

Pat Healey, who was second in the league with 43 blocked shots in the regular season, leads the MASL with 13 blocked shots in the playoffs. Adriano Dos Santos has four blocked shots and the Blast defense enters the Conference Championship allowing 5 goals per game this postseason. Goalkeeper Joey Kapinos went 2-0 with a 5.00 GAA and .737 save percentage in the Eastern Division Finals.

The Competition- Milwaukee Wave

Marcio Leite and Max Ferdinand enter the Conference Championship tied for the team lead with eight points. Leite leads the team with six postseason assists, while also contributing two goals. Ferdinand, who led the MASL with 31 assists during the regular season, has recorded four goals and four assists in the playoffs. Ian Bennett, who finished second in the league with 50 goals in the regular season, leads the team with five goals this postseason. Jonatan Santos, whose 34 blocked shots ranked tied for 3rd in the MASL during the regular season, leads the Wave defense. Wave goalkeeper Rafael Dias went 2-0 with a 7.45 GAA and .706 save percentage in the Central Division Finals.

Baltimore Blast vs. Milwaukee Wave

Friday, March 16th at 7:35 p.m. EST at SECU Arena

Setting the Tone:

Baltimore Blast: 17-5

First place in the Eastern Division

First round: The Blast traveled to Syracuse and defeated the Silver Knights 7-6 in game one. The Blast returned home and defeated Syracuse 5-4 in game two to advance.

Milwaukee Wave: 17-5

First place in the Central Division

First Round: The Wave traveled to Cedar Rapids and won 9-8 in overtime. Milwaukee returned home and defeated the Rampage 8-7 in game two to advance.

Regular Season Series:

2/10/18 Blast defeat Wave 6-5 in Milwaukee

2/17/18 Wave defeat Blast 5-1 in Milwaukee

2/23/18   Blast defeat Wave 9-6 in Baltimore
