Martins and Sterling to assist Wolves reading program

Chicago Wolves center and Harvard University graduate, STEVE MARTINS, and left wing and Colorado College graduate, BRETT STERLING, will make appearances on Tue., Dec. 19 as part of the 11th year of the team's "Read to Succeed"program, sponsored by Fisher Nuts and College Illinois!. The program has reached nearly 400,000 children in 10 seasons.

The two appearances are scheduled for:

Tue., Dec. 19:

Steve Martins Crystal Lake Public Library 126 Paddock Street 7 p.m.

Brett Sterling Northbrook Public Library 1201 Cedar Lane 7 p.m. The Wolves forwards will discuss the role reading plays in their lives as professional athletes and reinforce the importance of recreational reading, as well as highlight the resources that libraries have to offer. The players will also dress a child in Wolves hockey gear, raffle Wolves prizes and sign autographs.

The "Read to Succeed" program encourages children to spend more time at the library and reading for fun. Every participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the opportunity to win prizes including Wolves notebooks, "Read to Succeed" hats and tickets to Wolves home games for achieving their reading goals.

Each year, the Wolves reach more than 30,000 children through "Read to Succeed" and the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems. Members of the team will make nearly 40 library visits throughout the Chicago area this season.
