DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced Wednesday afternoon that the Iowa Stars have signed Forward Scott May to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

Originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs with their seventh choice, 222nd overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, May joins the Iowa Stars from the Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL. In 23 games with the ECHL club, the White Rock, British Columbia native has registered 13 goals, 18 assists and 37 penalty minutes: 23(13/18/31)37.

Last season, the 5-10, 195-pounder skated in 34 regular season games and 18 Calder Cup Playoff games with the Milwaukee Admirals and 19 games with the Trenton Titans (ECHL). The 24-year-old notched 116 points in 161 games in his four-year career at Ohio State University (2000-2004).

His four-year professional career has seen him notch 35 goals, 42 assists and 132 penalty minutes in 126 professional games: 126(35/42/77)132
