Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON, Texas - The National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild has assigned RW Matt Foy to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, the teams announced Wednesday. The Wild also recalled RW Joel Ward from the Aeros. In addition, the Aeros have signed C Marco Rosa to a professional tryout, and recalled LW Mark Rooneem from ECHL Texas. Rooneem will be activated if Foy does not make it to the arena in time for the game. The Aeros play host to Manitoba tonight at 7:05 p.m.

Foy, 23 (5/18/83), is the Aeros' leading scorer with 22 points (11-11=22) in 20 games. He has also played nine games with the Wild, registering four penalty minutes. Foy was Minnesota's sixth-round pick (No. 175 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Ward, 26 (2/21/80), has seven points (3-4=7) in 23 games with the Aeros this season. This is his first NHL recall. Ward began the 2005-06 season on an amateur tryout with the Aeros before signing a standard player's contract. The Wild signed Ward as a free agent during training camp.

Rosa, 24 (1/15/82), totaled two points (1-1=2) in four games with the Aeros in a stint earlier this season. He ranks fourth on the Wildcatters' roster with 22 points (10-12=22) in 15 games.

Rooneem, 23 (1/9/83), has seven points (5-2=7) in 20 games with Texas this season. In parts of two seasons with the Aeros, Rooneem has posted one goal in seven games. He was signed by the Wild as a free agent in June 2004.
