Martens Called-Up for Second Time this Season

Wichita, KS- The Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League announced Friday afternoon that defenseman Andrew Martens has been called-up to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. Wichita also activated Thomas Beauregard and Colin Hemingway off IR and placed forward Aaron Davis on IR.

Martens, 30, played 12 games earlier this season for the Oklahoma City Barons before being sent back to Wichita. The Friendswood, TX native leads the CHL in plus/minus (+26) and has 26 points (9g, 17a). Martens was named as a starter to the 2012 CHL All-Star Game the same day he was called-up earlier this season.

In other moves, Thomas Beauregard and Colin Hemingway have both been activated off IR and will be in the line-up tonight as Wichita will take on the Tulsa Oilers. Aaron Davis has been placed on 10-day IR after missing the past five games with an upper body injury.
